Faith-based organizations and communities have been identified as key resources in response to the problem of human trafficking in North America. Dr. Hofer’s research in this area indicates a substantial and critical need for increased awareness, improved service provision, and legislative reform. Her recent research explored the perceptions and roles of faith-based communities and organizations in addressing this alarming and growing crisis. In the recorded broadcast, Dr. Hofer discussed best practices to guide and inform efforts to more effectively and efficiently deal with this issue through awareness, prevention, and direct ministry services.
